The upper area of the flag is red, the lower area is blue, each accounting for one-third of the width of the flag, red represents blood, blue represents the sky. In the center of the flag is a horizontal y-shaped three-color bar, accounting for one third of the width of the flag, symbolizing the convergence of different South African nations, common development, together to the road ahead. A black triangle used to separate the red and blue areas and to connect the cloth of the flagpole. Black represents black.
